As Travel Photographer I aim to create desire about journey, destination and experience.
We can’t emphasize this enough – which is why we just repeat our core belief – Travel Photography is about journey, destination and experience. We feel strongly about this core statement. Because most clients in the travel business are looking for beauty – which in so many ways are absolutely correct. But what is a beautiful picture, right?
Beauty might have wow effect enough to keep some interested. Moreover it depends entirely on the target audience and the scope. Scope truly has to be build on a foundation of journey, destination and experience.
So just because we take astonishing travel pictures, doesn’t imply other than an amazing first hand impression.
Don’t be fooled the travel photographer ability to broadcast beautiful interpretation of an amazing travel destination. It’s not possible without digging into the rationale behind the idea following the choice of pictures, the angle, the story or the color grading. There is a reason and choices have to be made. The final result is not just a amazing batch of work if one isn’t able to sell a dream to a specific audience. And every picture have to perform on the right communication platforms.
We believe you need pictures for different media, meaning a greater batch of work to ensure that your message reaches the audience on the specific digital platforms and on a variety of social media platforms. We urge you to understand that there is a huge difference in the choice of picture for an off-line catalog compared with a social media platform – IF you what your campaign to work and generate sharing and business in general.
Over time we learned and came to appreciate that the story about a city, region or country seldom has to do with the bigger picture. Hereby we mean the biggest tourist magnets around. Travellers want to explore and to find the pearls and often the side streets. The tourists consume the location differently than just a decade ago, and the pictures have to embrace and reflect this fact.
The Travel Photographer should create the desire to go explore yourself.
Panorama is for the brochure but not suggested for social media communication. And the audience will be tricked by a variety of pictures. So close-ups are as important as the usual travel imagery.
As a brand in the travel industry often do we see a resemblance between the different brands. The industry has certain standards often forgetting how important it is to stand out from the competition. We take this into consideration too and the dialogue with the clients often frame a new crisp take on strong brand and location.
We take your business seriously but we are not afraid to push the boundaries. Because we don’t believe in the status quo! We create amazing visual presentations, generate business and make the locals even more proud about sense of place. How do we do that you might ask?
No one want a mediocre result!
Well first and foremost we are not afraid to invest mind space and time, preventing a mediocre result. We don’t rush, which we know can be annoying from a customer perspective. But at the end of the day it’s business, and we want to see the business develop. Hence even though we deliver on time, we never set a tight deadline. Because so much has to go into consideration. Remember over 40% of all searches today start with a picture search. So digitally we take it very serious when we claim that it’s important to stand out from competition.
Then you might be in doubt of what we have to offer you? Because you have seen what is possible and you believe you know what is working and what’s not. We don’t promise anything we don’t expect to deliver on, and everything starts as always with us and with lots of questions.
Moreover Oddhunt Photography believes it a vital part to map out journey, destination and experience – not before do we have a mutually anchored framework for the Travel Photography scope.
