Surf photography is also about capturing the nerve and decisive moments in any competition. But most of all deliver on the perception of a lifestyle filled with cool unexplainable metaphors and philosophies.

Surf Photographers always tent to get more focus – to most people. This line of work comes with some extra value or perhaps just more WOW effect. I do understand why because for so many reasons it’s filled with glamour and who would not like to have an office next to the sea? Therefore you could argue that for this reason alone this is my most important line of work. But the fact of the matter is actually quite different! I want to support the sport, rider and the brands that embrace the surf sport and watersports in general.

Travel the world to the coolest beaches and photograph at PWAworldtour events IFCA championships just to name a few. National championships and tour events typical on location for 4-6 days. As a result, I have been following some 30-40 ‘surfer’ supporting them and getting content enough to brand themselves. Last but not least I have done a series of shoots for various brands in the industry, from fashion to gear and everything in between.

Expect to see my surf photography work

My work is all over the internet and in magazines like the german SURF magazine and the webzine WorldofWindsurfing (aka WOW). I mostly only do the pictures, but on some occasions, I’m also paid to do full features on specific riders because I already have a great relationship with these individual champions.

In photography, it’s vital to understand what is going on and knowing when to press the shutter. My training in this field comes from being a pro windsurfer myself and even though I know that it’s long ago nothing really have changed that much.
